Carlien Thomson, operations director at Softline Lorge, says Computicket had been using ACCPAC for DOS as its back-office financial system. “The company, comprising 60 sites around the country, prides itself on keeping up to date with new technologies, so an upgrade to ACCPAC Advantage Series was an easy decision to make.”
To ensure that Computicket`s back-office and selling functions were not interrupted, Softline Lorge conducted an extensive trial data conversion exercise while simultaneously training head office personnel in the use of the newer Windows-based system.
“The Advantage Series offered Computicket the investment protection it needed to upgrade quickly and easily once its business requirements expanded,” says Thomson. “All editions share the same user interface, allowing us to transfer the company`s data without downtime. Computicket is a large corporate environment with demanding accounting needs and the Advantage Series proved its scalability without a hiccup.”
Computicket customised its system to focus on debtors, creditors and general ledger. The system had to be completely compatible with its online front-office system, which is used to sell event, transport and cinema tickets for over 30 000 concurrent performances to the public through outlets found countrywide.
Computicket`s financial manager, Kurt Drennan says the company realised the business and technology benefits to upgrading to ACCPAC after researching the product thoroughly. “Interfacing with the ticketing system had to be simple and needed to be done in a really short space of time,” he says. “Reliability is of paramount important as our business does not move from month end to month end, but rather from week to week.
“Also key, is the fast dissemination of information and the ACCPAC Advantage Series allows us to be flexible around how we are able to accomplish this.”
