  • IT Infrastructure

    We provide guidance and consulting to our clients and design and implement solutions for the transformation and optimization of our clients’ IT infrastructure.

  • System Design and Configuration

    The project team capture and validate the key business requirements identified during scoping, and then configure the solution based on the validated requirements.

  • Requirements Analysis

    The “design team” which includes the System Owner, Module Owners and key users are involved in initial workshops to gather the solution requirements. High level familiarity training is presented explaining in broad terms the functionality and terms of the solution and the specific modules to be used. The formal assessment of requirements and the documentation of these requirements are performed via a series of workshops attended by the Design Team, the Lorge Project Leader, as well as the consultants.

  • Project Management

    A dedicated Project Manager from Lorge is responsible for managing the implementation cycle of a project in order for deliverables and expectations to be met.

  • Implementation

    Loading of all the software with sample data on the server. Setting up all relevant workstations and testing that the software is working within the environment.

  • Design Customised Reports

    Design Customised Reports means not having to wade through irrelevant data searching for the information you need. Your reports only contain the information you’re interested in. Having a customised report means you can have the information presented in the way you want it.

  • Integration to Bespoke Systems

    Where an off-the-shelf product is unavailable or inadequate we can design, build and implement a solution that meets your specific business needs.

  • Application Modifications

    We do modification of software to keep it usable in a changed or changing environment.

  • Formal Training and Hand-Holding

    Lorge uses a train-the-trainer approach. This means that Lorge will train the Systems Administrator, the trainer and module champions. It is then the responsibility of the trainer to train the end users. If user training is required then it takes approximately four hours per module to train a group of delegates.

Technical knowledge

At Lorge we are very proud of the technical expertise we have built in our team. In addition to our core business of providing Sage product implementation, support and training we also have a small hardware department, where we also look after some of our clients’ whole infrastructure, which includes server and network maintenance, database maintenance, backups, data replication and disaster recovery. We are therefore comfortable that we have the pure technical knowledge to support any client.

We don’t regard Crystal Reports, Sage Intelligence Reporting, the ability to do system version upgrades and other related tasks as technical knowledge. We require all of our consultants to have these skills and perform related tasks, to a level to satisfy even the most difficult client. We can certainly look back at a track record where we completed upgrades where others have failed, and we have been rewarded and acknowledged by our suppliers for the level of skill and expertise we bring to the table as far as report writing is concerned.

Further, we have a strong development team that has done very successful integrations, customisations, and automations of the, and into the software that we support.

Financial knowledge

Most of our functional consultants have B. Com / B. Comp degrees, and as such have a keen understanding of the accounting behind the systems we are implementing. We certainly always adhere to best practice and know that taking shortcuts now leads to problems later on.

Saying that, our consultants are not practicing accountants, and therefore need to work with you to understand the reporting standards relating to your situation to ensure the system is configured in a way that will satisfy those requirements.
