This is according to Muphulusi Nematondoni, Head of Sage Intacct at Sage Platinum reseller Rayburn Holdings, who says Sage Intacct features are addressing some of the top headaches faced by local finance departments.

“They are now able to see live information being fed into the system so they can spot anomalies in stock levels and movements and establish relationships between the movement of stock and revenue. Because of the visibility and improved controls, they have significantly reduced losses. Instead of waiting a week or two to reconcile what’s on hand, this is now done daily, so it becomes harder for stock to go missing,” he says.

Another customer, a food manufacturer, has reduced risk and improved revenue by improving its ability to monitor slow moving stock and stock about to expire.

“It improved their controls to help minimise overbuying or underbuying,” Nematondoni says.

Duplicate capturing was their biggest challenge. Tshikululu was running various systems that weren’t integrated and the data needed to be captured manually across these systems. They had to capture everything in their external system and then accountants had to recapture all that information into Sage 300.

Tshikululu Social Investments CFO Alistair Wagner says they partnered with Lorge to standardise and automate our management accounts across all our clients. “Firstly, we looked at a new system for our back office that integrates with Sage 300. We then started off by automating our payments, this was a small part of the process, but the impact was significant.”

He says they managed to recover the costs of the initial project within months. “The time it takes to authorise and process a payment is now a fraction of what it used to be. Because all the systems are now integrated, the data is automatically shared across systems – the data resides in our core line of business system and none of it goes into Sage 300. The entire process is now automated,” he explains.

If we hadn’t followed this route, we would have had to employ an army of people, there would have been many mistakes e.g., wrongful payments. These errors would also incur huge costs,” he explains.

November, 2021 – leading Sage Platinum Partner, Lorge Consulting Services (Pty) Ltd has publicized that Carlien Thomson is retiring as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Lorge is a leading name in ERP, CRM, business management and intelligence solutions, and is celebrating 35 years of excellence in the industry. The organization has appointed Neville Govender as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Neville Govender, with more than 22 years of business management experience and  will be leading the multi-award winning consulting services, whilst Thomson will remain on board as a part-time business consultant.

Encompassed in the impressive Lorge portfolio, the proudly South African IT pioneer has a presence in several other countries, such as Dubai, Ghana, India and Canada.  more than a third of their South African clientele are listed on the JSE and is also a service provider for in excess of 250 companies. Utilizing his exemplary leadership, management and business development skills, he has successfully contributed to the growth and advancements of five different organizations, over the past two decades. When asked what he was most proud of regarding the company, he  highlighted the longevity of Lorge, together with it’s the client portfolio, as well as the amazing staff that play a role in the success of the organization. Apart from its existence, the new CEO indicated that the pride he felt was also directed toward the type of service and delivery offerings that Lorge added to the market.

As part of the new succession plan, Lorge Consulting Services is focused on strategically increasing its market share and dedicating its footprint to global expansion. The long-term strategy, as pointed out by Neville, was to shape Lorge into becoming a key player in the market. Included in the vision, the objective of the business is inclined with client-centric priorities, in terms of its product offering. Part of this process includes the grooming and up-skilling of staff to be trendsetters in the market and to support his vision , in building and growing the enterprise.

Mergers and acquisitions are pivotal to the expansion of Lorge, but the vision of Neville is to also organically grow the company through the current staff. This includes the recruitment of graduates and up-skilling them through a program that will enable them to support the vision. Every employee at Lorge exposed to this initiative will then be trained, skilled and equipped to the best of their abilities to enter the IT market, according to the succeeding CEO.

Apart from the trials brought upon by the covid pandemic, where the company has had to adapt in response to economic downturns and recessions, some of the risks the organization faces include the personal difficulties experienced by their customers. The covid outbreak has seen many clients experience tribulations and this, together with the current state of the economy, has the ability to jeopardize the growth and success of Lorge. Neville is however, unwavering in his plans to expand and intends on mitigating these risks by being a multi-vendored company, with customer-centric focus. Building key strategic relationships and emphasizing good service delivery is the cornerstone of business advancement, according to the new CEO, as this assists in customer retention. Strong customer support is paramount in retaining clients, as well as in the transformation of the enterprise, and is a clear path to success. In addition, another plan to mitigate the risks faced by the business includes the negotiation of pricing with the company vendors, in order to relay this cost-efficiency to the clients of the organization, in order to sustain them.

Neville added this about the moral dimensions he intends on adapting at Lorge, “whilst our business is based on our clients, my main focus is our employees. We put our employees first at Lorge and that gives us the added advantage to confidently get into the market and to avoid any major setbacks.”

As part of her final thoughts, Thomson was eager to point out that reaching 35 years in consulting excellence was an achievement of greatest proportions.
