National home entertainment, telecommunications and electronic consumer equipment distributor Knightsword has awarded a R300 000 accounting and financial systems software upgrade contract to ACCPAC accounting software reseller and service provider Lorge.
The contract involves taking Knightsword from a DOS-based ACCPAC Plus system onto the latest Windows-based ACCPAC Advantage Series 5.2. Apart from the pure accounting functions, Lorge will also be implementing ACCPAC Insight, an enterprise-wide reporting, budgeting, forecasting and consolidations solution.
Lorge services manager Jaco Havenga says the powerful features resident in Insight and the full integration with ACCPAC business management applications will provide Knightsword with fast, accurate managerial reporting and analysis systems at its major offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
Included in the contract is the installation of Service Manager, a module developed by ACCPAC development partner Technisoft. “Service Manager seamlessly integrates with ACCPAC Advantage Series,” says Havenga “and will be used to manage and streamline the operations of the Knightsword technical division. It will provide them with an effective means to plan, control, organise, operate and manage the products and services they offer.”
Typically, Service Manager can effectively manage labour scheduling, stock availability, job profitability, meter manufacturer`s agreements, site inspection records and most importantly, manage customer relationships.
